I used to think that nudity as part of a protest gave the perpetrator protection. That doesn't seem to be the case for this girl. On November 7, 2006 at 2pm during the Melbourne Cup, Australia’s most famous horse race, Jodi Ruckley, a woman in her late twenties or early thirties streaked naked with “HorseRacingKills.org” written on herback in red paint, joining a field which included Headturner and (un)Zipping. She was taken into custody by police where she was clothed and given a field court attendance notice for offensive behaviour.
She faced court charges for offensive behaviour. Seems they really hate her. Maybe that was because she was so serious. Look at the picture. She's not even smiling.
A statement issued by Animal Liberation NSW said the stunt was aimed at drawing attention to what it said was the widespread mistreatment of racehorses and rejected racehorses.
