This girl also got away with it! Female streakers are apparently more appreciated at sporting events, especially pretty ones.
Day Nine - Monday, 18 January, 2000. During the game Titillating Tracy bounced along the portable rink up to champion David Gourlay and his 60yr old Welshman opponent Les Saunders, and planted a kiss on each. Later she explained, "Bowls has a reputation as a boring game and I wanted to liven it up."
I did it as a dare. My friends were egging me on to do it for a laugh. I'd put on a jumper and a pair of jogging bottoms beacuse I knew they'd be easy to take off and quickly stripped off behind the stands.
When my mate gave me the thumbs-up I was like "Whoosh" across the green.
"The crowd loved it. There was a few gasps but they cheered and clapped.
I read afterwards that one bloke said it was the best four quid he'd ever spent.
"The next day I was splashed all over the Sun, which was a bit embarrassing because my dad nearly choked on his breakfast. My mum didn't talk to me for a couple of days afterwards but she's fine about it now.
She was shocked I'd done it - and so was I! I'm not usually an exhibtionist. God knows what got into me. I just wish I hadn't tried to vault over the barrier because I fell over and then had to climb over slowly, one leg after the other, revealing more than I'd intended.
I'm not at all confident about my body. I saw the footage later and I looked so wobbly that I decided to lose some weight. Since then I have lost a stone."
This was probably the most exciting event in the history of indoor bowls - possibly the only exciting event in the history of indoor bowls. Scotsman Gourlay, however, were less enthusiastic. He said : "I ended up losing a double at the next end."
Tracy made sympathetic headlines across the United Kingdom. Norfolk officials told the Glasgow Herald no charges would be filed. Issuing a tongue-in-cheek statement, they said, "After having studied the whole unsavory incident on 43 occasions, including slow motion replay, we have decided against implementing a rule that spectators should remain clothed at all times." |
