I'D FEEL NAKED WITHOUT MY MAKE-UP ON. Officers from Fife Police smuggled publicity-hungry Jacqui Salmond past waiting photographers because she was unhappy about her appearance after a night in the cells.
Last night, Tuesday, July 25, 2000 , an unrepentant Salmond, 20, said: "I didn't want my hard work, careful planning and night in the cells to count for nothing with horrible photo-graphs without any make-up.
"I told the cops I was petrified at having to face the press and they believed me. They took me out a back door. It was like having my own minders. Just what I needed to get past the cameras."
Salmond was fined pounds 100 at Cupar Sheriff Court.
After leaving the dock, she told police her boyfriend, Ryan Greig, 27, would pick her up if they gave her a lift to Cupar police station - and they agreed.
Greig held Salmond's dress after she stripped off at the side of the 18th green - having already phoned her parents to make sure they would be watching on TV.
The couple, who had tickets for the event, had arrived at the course hours earlier and staked out their place long before Woods appeared on the final hole.
Salmond hopes to appear on Richard and Judy's ITV show to talk about her streak.
She spent Sunday night locked in a cell with fellow Open streakers Julie Methven and Carol Louttit and said: "We were singing and laughing all night. We even plotted to do a streak together sometime in the future. It's never been done before but we intend to run naked hand in hand at some major event."
Fife Police, who had pledged to get tough on streakers at The Open, ran scared last night when quizzed on why officers escorted a convicted criminal from court.
The force's presss officer, Les Peters, said they had no comment to make about Salmond's chauffeur-driven car. And asked if the Chief Constable would be happy about his officers' involvement with the streaker, he snapped: "No comment."

She is not even as naked as when she streaked!
