Clare's Charity Streak

On Saturday, 14 November 2002, rugby fan Clare Morgan turned up to watch the match against Fiji wearing a jacket, boots, and a Welsh flag draped around her as a skirt.

Just after Wales scored their first try, she tore her clothes off and ran onto the Millennium Stadium pitch. Cheering fans rose to their feet as she held the flag aloft - before being tackled by a steward on the 22-metre line.

The blonde from Swansea did it as a response to a challenge from her friends to raise £300 for the BBC's annual Children in Need Appeal.

But her fund-raising streak landed her before Cardiff magistrates charged with breaching public order. Miss Morgan was conditionally discharged but was ordered to pay £55 costs.
